Westinghouse iGen 2500 Generator
The Westinghouse iGen 2500 Generator is simple to start, anyone with a basic knowledge of engines can use it easily. Just turn the engine switch to choke, pull the recoil handle (just like you would pull start a lawn mover), and then turn the engine switch to run, and you are ready for the power you need. However, check fuel and oil (included in the box and funnel) levels before starting.
The first time starting, the unit may require you to pull the handle several times, but once the unit is broken-in, it should start with just one pull! Give time for the unit to warm-up, and then it is ready to be used.
This unit starts at 2500 watts and runs at 2200 watts, which is enough to power most large appliances and plenty for any smaller device you may need power.
Maintenance is a breeze with the removable side covers and spark plug wrench and handle included in the box.
With the LED data center on the front of the Westinghouse iGen 2500 generator, you can easily track the remaining run time, power output (kW), voltage, fuel level, and lifetime run hours.
There is also a low oil level warning light (unit will shut down when it runs out of oil), overload light (unit will again shut-off when overloaded), and output ready light. Should you overload the generator, there is a reset button to get you back and running, note that there is no circuit breaker on this unit. Just be sure to check the electronics specs to make sure the generator can handle the load. If you need more power, another generator can be paralleled to this unit with a cord or cable (sold separately).
Running two generators, parallelled is plenty of electricity to run an RV on a boondocking adventure. You can run the average home with a generator rated at 5,000 to 7,500 watts, so having two units is plenty to run what you need in your RV.
You will need to check the specifications to see if using another brand generator will void the warranty (three-year limited service, labor, and parts coverage). However, this relatively inexpensive generator, compared to other models of its size, makes having another Westinghouse iGen 2500 no problem.
Westinghouse iGen 2500 inverter technology
The inverter technology in the Westinghouse iGen 2500 runs cleaner, more stable output energy, so your sensitive devices run smoothly and trouble-free. Efficiency mode automatically adjusts engine speed to produce only the necessary power your device needs, and fuel-saving is the result.
On one tank of gasoline, you can run this unit for eight to ten hours at a 25 percent load. If you need a longer run time, an auxiliary fuel tank will be required.
Portable and lightweight, the Westinghouse iGen 2500 is perfect for the RV experience. The built-in handle makes it easy to lift and carry. Weighing only 48 pounds, it will not weigh down your RV. Operating at 52 dBA with the efficiency switch is quieter than average conversion. Your camping neighbors will have no complaints about a noisy generator running. Do be aware, though, the more load you run, the louder the generator will be.
